TL;DR Version: The Warm Cookie Ice Cream Sandwich from @BaskinRobbins is incredibly satisfying, but extremely messy and not to be eaten on the go. Full Review: Today I had a follower request to review one of the Warm Cookie Ice Cream Sandwiches from Baskin Robbins. After a little bit of research I learned that you can pair any of their four cookie flavors (dark chocolate chunk, double fudge, peanut butter chocolate, or white chunk macadamia nut) with a scoop of any of their ice cream flavors. There is also a “double scoop” option where they add a second scoop of ice cream and a third cookie, stacked like a Big Mac. I went with the single scoop option since I knew I’d be on my way to brunch immediately after eating it. I also chose to keep it simple; Snickers ice cream between two peanut butter chocolate cookies. According to the website, that combination of items yields 490 calories, 23g fat, 67g carbs, and 9g protein. My first thought upon seeing the cookies come out was that this was going to be a small sandwich. They appeared to be approximately 3” in diameter, but I didn’t have a ruler with me to check. However, despite the smaller than expected size, the sandwich was reasonably filling and tasted wonderful because I chose wisely with the flavor combinations. I can’t speak to how other flavors would mesh, but the good news is that you’ve got 15,810 possible combinations to create the perfect combination for you. For their part, the warm cookies were soft and delicious and created a nice contrast for the ice cream. I will warn, however, that it was incredibly messy since warm cookies and ice cream result in even more dripping ice cream than usual and the sandwiches are not mass produced into predictable shapes like the Chipwich at your local convenience store.
