You call me Monty, but that’s not my name

Because like my family, all it’s ever brought me is pain

The name given at birth

It hurts

It HURTS

Pounding and ringing inside of my brain.

The weight it carries, it feels so heavy

I’m telling you now, it always drowns me

Pulling me under my own waves, it surrounds me

So I made it my own, I am reborn as Monty.

I drag along with me, this feeling every day

The name my family won’t even say to my face

I know that it scorches

It hurts me too

That you can’t understand why I still love you!

That, I have no reason for, I won’t lie

Because the way you treated me, you wanted me to die 

Because I was able to love other things you don’t even know

I knew you wouldn’t understand, so I had to go.

I couldn’t let you know!

You would go wild, at the thought of your son, your twin, your child

A better brother, I understand I could’ve been

But you wouldn’t even try to see the things I’ve seen.

You would cover your eyes, if you ever saw the youth

Influenced by the truth, you tried to hide

The way humans collide

Even in death, they are what they were before

Vile, sickly, tarnished and more.

And I admit, that I’ve seen their cruelty with my own eyes

But I still keep in mind, “Not all shall we despise”

Do not be fooled,

Do not forget the tries,

The times that they tried to amend for their lies

They are cursed beings that are forever destined to be born under a billion skies,

So we do not understand their fear of their demise,

We live our peaceful, war-free lives

As they kill each other off with knives

With weapons crafted for gain,

Which only seems to be achieved by pain,

Pain of the mothers,

Pain of the child,

That of which they forced into their foolish game

And although Brutus had a dagger, his intention was the same

They have wars, even without tools,

They ridicule, and torture poor fools

There are those with scars of battles,

Bloody they bled, pools,

Threads of their sanity cut from their vile spools.
