Today is #worldphotographyday apparently and well, I am so grateful for photography. I have self taught over the years, I did 6 months at college learning the basics but in all honesty I didnโt listen and I didnโt even follow the brief when it came to our project because i didnโt like it. I have always wanted to follow my own creative path and produce images that I love. I am proud that Iโve taught myself how to work manual settings, camera angles, use editing software and well basically most photography things Iโve taught myself. I donโt claim to be a โprofessionalโ as Iโm still not entirely sure what I feel classes you as that really BUT I am so proud that I have made numerous brides and grooms happy with wedding photos, many families happy with their family shoots and well basically have built a business and blog business over the years thanks to photography. My photography love started in Disneyworld when I took a DSLR with me and started capturing things from a โcandidโ way... which at the time I had no idea was called candid at the time, but candid sounds a lot nicer than natural ๐ For me I see a LOT of self taught photographers and we get a LOT of grief from โprofessional photographersโ because โitโs not about buying a camera and taking photosโ and thatโs so true, itโs taken years of practice and lots of self teaching lessons and I just love it. Photography is wonderful and our family photos on the wall and in our scrapbooks make me feel so happy and Iโm proud that Iโve taken them all! Photographers donโt always require qualifications to be the best, if you have the โeyeโ and a heck of a lot of dedication then you can absolutely be a photographer. Blogging proves that, there are so many wonderful self taught photographers out there producing stunning imagery.
