~~~~~
Scottâs eyes flew open as someone grabbed him by his arm and yanked him off the bed. He was brought face-to-face with the man that owned the house. Scott shook, his eyes filled with fear. This was bad. This was very bad. Why had he returned already? And at night?!
           The man had a firm hold on Scott. One thing was for sure; he did not look pleased to see Scott at all.
           âWhat are you doing in my house??â the man growled; his voice was deep, and he was much bigger than Scott had realized, only seeing him from a distance and all. What was he thinking when he chose to break into this manâs house?
Scott tried to search for the right words to say, but found none. âI⌠IâŚâ The manâs eyes pierced Scott like daggers. âI asked you a question!â Scott flinched. âS-sorryâŚâ he shuddered. âI⌠I just wanted a place to stay for the night. You were gone; s-so I didn't think it would harm anything if I just slept here for the nightâŚâ
âSo itâs okay for you to just come into my house just because Iâm not here!? I donât even know you!!â Scott could feel the anger radiation from the man.
âI-I know⌠Uh⌠My na-â Scott was cut off as the man threw him back on the bed. âI donât want to know your name!! I want you out of my house!â
Scott shakily sighed as he sat up on the bed, âOkay, Iâll goâŚâ He got up and began to leave the room. A firm hand gripped his shoulder, stopping him. âWhere do you think youâre going?â His voice was cold and dark, like icicles. It sent chills down Scottâs spine.
âI was just⌠Donât you want me to leave?â
âOh, youâre leaving,â the man growled, his grip on Scott tightening as he dragged him out of the room. âNot like that, though. Youâre leaving by a police escort.â
Scott became pale, his eyes widening from this news. âWhat?? Y-you canât call the police! I-â
âYes, I can.â The man pushed Scott onto the couch and pulled his cell phone out of his pocket. âPlease!!â Scott darted up and grabbed the manâs hand that held the phone. The man glared at Scott.
The man scared Scott, but he couldn't back down. He didnât want to go to jail. âLook, Iâm sorry, okay? I shouldn't have broken into your house. I just hated sleeping on the cold, hard streets and wanted to sleep in a warm bed for at least one night. Iâm homeless, man. Have a heart!â
The man looked at Scott for a moment. He grabbed Scott's hand and pulled it from his own and pulled Scott so their faces were a mere inches apart.
Scott's mind began racing. Oh God, what have I done now? Heâs gonna kill me.
âListen close, brat, because I will only say this once. I am the last person you want to mess with. Iâll let you go this one time, but if I so much as see you in this neighborhood again, I will not hesitate to call the cops. Homeless or not, you will not fuck with me.â He pushed Scott away from him. Scott stumbled back and fell to the ground. âNow get out before I change my mind.â
Scott slowly got up. He looked at the man, a sad glint in his eyes. Sighing, he grabbed his bag from beside the couch and went to the front door. He stopped in the frame of the door, turning his head slightly back to look at the man one last time. âI guess you are that heartlessâŚâ With that, he left, disappearing  into the night.
~~~~~
       Snake stared at the door, still comprehending what had happened. Heartless?? He let that brat go! He should be thankful that he hadn't beaten the living hell out of him for breaking into his house!
           Shaking his head he went to his bedroom. He just needed to sleep. He wouldn't see that homeless brat around again, he didn't have to worry about him; so, why couldn't he get that kid out of his mind?
Snake plopped down on the end of his bed and kicked his shoes off. After removing his shirt, he laid back on the bed, not bothering with the covers that were half on the floor from the incident.
He closed his eyes and tried to sleep, Scott's last words still echoing through his head.
