You also do not understand colorblind casting. Clarks cannibalistic actions were also not rooted in racism, especially as it did not depict him as savage or aggressive or anyhting. Black representation INCLUDES casting us in antagonistic and monstrous roles, and this film handled this with so much tact and care, to ask for more is lowkey selfish. This is what black horror fans have been asking for and quite frankly I do praise the movie for this. Also, i trust my historian friend who, actively studies, researches, and engages in discussions on black culture/black stereotypes and our subjagation in films, more than I will ever trust some random tumblr post thats 6 paragraphs long and manages to miss the entire point of the movie, ESPECIALLY trying to compare it to a film that is saying an entirely different story and doing an entirely different thing, that is ACTUALLY trying to speak on the black experience. To try and view the Backrooms as a black film, when it is not, and not trying to be nor claimed to be, and try to say it is racist FOR not trying to be is dumb. This is like saying Candyman is racist and that Obsession is sexist. Lets use our heads. Not everything is as black and white as yall want it to be.
