I’m here to share a gut wrenching story. An ancient tale which had taken place… uh…. about a few months ago.

On one faithful day, I was walking into the living room to chill on the couch after a long day. My brother was setting up the PlayStation in front of me.

I went to sit down, and sat a little too hard and fast. I landed flat on my ass on a solid piece of the couch and let out a “AUUUGH” type sound. It hurt quite a bit. My brother turns around and goes:

“You sounded like st-….. British.”

Did he- did he cut something off..? Was he about to say something different? I decided to ask him.

“Were you about to say something else…?”

“Uh…”

“Dude. What were you about to say.”

“St…Stephen Merchant.”

SHOCK. TERROR. DISBELIEF. If I could describe the emotions that went through me in that moment, I’d have scientists showing up at my door asking be questions. That was so out of nowhere. It was absolutely hilarious.

BUT THEN, IT WENT ON.

It became an ongoing joke where we would quote it every now and then. But then… it happened again. Twice. The second time, it was just subtle and out of nowhere. We got a good kick out of it. That happened about a few weeks ago. But the third time.

That happened mere MINUTES before typing this post. He tapped my shoulder and it felt weird so I let out the “AUUUUGH” again. But then it hit me. Oh no…

Then he stared at me. With pure shock. He said the line.

Now here I am, after my brother suggested I type a Reddit story type post on tumblr talking about the whole saga.
