A classic and tasty way to enjoy a home-cooked burger is with these Easy Smash Burgers. The key is to smash the beef so that the outside is thin and crispy and the inside is juicy. You can make it taste even better by adding cheese, your favorite toppings, and a special sauce.
Ingredients: 1 lb ground beef 80% lean, 20% fat. Salt and pepper to taste. 4 hamburger buns. 4 slices of American cheese. 1/4 cup mayonnaise. 1/4 cup ketchup. 1/4 cup diced onions. 1/4 cup pickles. Lettuce leaves optional. Tomato slices optional.
Instructions: Warm up a griddle or skillet over high heat. Make 4 balls out of the ground beef that are all the same size. To make a thin patty, put a ball of beef on a hot skillet and quickly press it down with a spatula. Add pepper and salt. After two to three minutes, the edges should be golden and crispy. Put the patty on the other side and cook for an extra one to two minutes. Then, add a slice of American cheese on top to melt. Take the patty out of the pan and put it on a hamburger bun. To make a special sauce, mix mayonnaise and ketchup in a small bowl. Spread the sauce on the top bun, and if you want, add diced onions, pickles, lettuce leaves, and tomato slices to the burger. Enjoy while hot!
