Profound Things That Children Say

So, today on the way to work "In my feelings" by Drake came on the radio, I driving and singing, then the video of Jaxon singing it to me, popped up into the front of my memory bank and got me teary eyed. I had to call them, because I do miss The Fosters. It was about 6:40am Texas time, and Kassie and Jaxon were awake eating breakfast. I talked to Kassie for a lil bit and then talked to Jaxon and I was just in awe at how smart and articulate he is. It was so touching that I really started crying. We talked about the books he liked to read, the things that he is building with his legos. We talked about my job, and you know what he asked me??? If I was a Construction Manager, what SIX year old do you know, that asks those kinds of questions. Like, Man. Im so proud of my cousins, the family that they are raising and the examples they are being and the example they allow me to be in their childrens lives. Being able to live less than 500 steps away from them really solidified our bond as family. I would cook, we would be in the pool, have sleepovers, movie nights and even work out together. Being on the other side of the world and only having less than a handful of friends and family visit in the almost four years that I've been here has kinda been a somber, yet jarring reality for me because, I often get told that friends/family are coming to visit, but I usually dont find out til the last minute and when that happens, plans just dont fit like they could have or should have.
