Translated to common modern English:
From the Egyptian Book of Wisdom
(Papyrus Prisse)
If you want to build a good life, be generous and share what you have. Your prosperity should be the prosperity of your brothers and sisters as well.
Breaking a promise you made is an evil act. Keep your word, be honest and trustworthy.
Do not look down on people who have less than you. Instead, respect them as Gods do.
Never insult someone, even if you are trying to help. Your good intentions don't justify cruel behavior.
A city is strongest when its people are united. Stay together, create a tight loving community.
Do not act proud or arrogant toward others.
Do not put on a fake, conceited attitude.
Listen carefully when people criticize you so you can learn what to change and improve. Admit your wrongdoings and take responsibility.
If someone refuses to work hard or says "I can't do this," they are hopeless. Only they can help themselves and put in effort.
Live your life with integrity, keeping your actions aligned with your spiritual values and moral principles.
