A very hot day today. After getting the pictures, I was sweating!

Here’s, my entry to the Mabulle contest. The theme was “ carré (square)”... so this is my version of a “square of happiness”.

What do you see when you look at this garden? I mostly see a garden that is well loved. The island flower bed is weeded and the plants are healthy and are growing well. I mean look at this yellow phlomis in the center of the flower bed! I see a garden designed by a lay person who definitely put a lot of thought into it but it is not planned by a professional garden designer. I see a garden of someone who is putting money into it but is still gardening on a limited budget, like most if us do. I see a group of garden furniture that invites one to sit down and rest and take it all in. I see a garden of a normal size, not one that sits on acres. I see a mom and pop garden that has a similar cosy, warm, and homey feeling just like a mom and pop shop. I see a garden that is beautiful but not extraordinaire. I see a garden that is not perfect, but is well tended. I see a garden that is real! I wonder is a garden like this good enough these days? Is it good enough to succeed on Instagram? You are the judge, you tell! she said darling build me a pagoda, oh pretty please I implore ya honey I replied I’m an accountant, not a carpenter nor a joiner but she was quite insistent and very very persistent so I said that OK try I would then bought some nails and some wood and in my problem solving mind her mini pagoda I visually designed then after a day of few things going wrong and working at it hammer and tongue I had built the lady what she asked for her very own custom built pagoda and it now stands proud for all to see a place where she can enjoy afternoon tea
