Which led to a confused Yeosang who came back home to a dimmed hall and the absence of dishes in the kitchen, thinking you weren’t home yet from work. Taking off his jacket, he laid it on the couch and walked to your shared room together to take a shower.

“Shit,” He muttered, his hands quickly flying to his mouth when he noticed you in a deep slumber. You had fallen asleep pretty quickly and there was definitely no way that you were going to wake up, even if he were to shake you strongly for it was a rare occasion you would fall asleep before eight.

Walking up to your sleeping form, Yeosang brushed away your hair that was blocking off your beautiful features which he smiled at. His finger caressed your cheek and he bent down, leaving a small peck on your forehead. You were the type to still pick up gestures around you even if you were asleep so when you felt his touch, you relaxed and dozed off into dreamland.

It wasn’t until one in the morning that you woke up randomly to notice that your night light was switched on but the other side of your bed was left untouched. Rubbing your eyes, you got up and sat on the bed for a brief second, trying to process what happened. You were too dazed to even realise what was going on, the want to sleep still running in your mind. You grazed your fingers on the screen of your phone, causing the screen to illuminate as you squinted to read the time.

You gasped when you realised it was past midnight and you hadn’t cooked dinner for you and your fiance. It also hit you that he wasn’t sleeping next to you at this late hour. Quickly getting out of bed, you made your way to the bathroom and washed your face with ice cold water from the faucet which made you feel a little more awake. You grabbed the towel and wiped the dripping water from your face before you left your room, making your way to the hall.

To your relief, your lover was enjoying chicken as his eyes were locked on the television screen. He must have heard your soft whimpers when you came out since he looked at your direction when you walked out. Fixing your hair into a messy bun, you walked over to his place and sat down beside him. The coffee table was slightly messy, having two Chinese takeaway boxes, one that was left unopened and a box of fried chicken, along with 2 empty beer cans while a full one was in his hand.

You leaned back, closing your eyes for a second. “I’m sorry for not cooking today, I was going to wake up before you came home but I guess… yeah.”

Yeosang’s soft chuckle comforted you, “It’s okay, love. You had a long day at work, didn’t you?”

“How did you know?”

“Lately, you only sleep after eleven but you slept before eight so I figured.” He explained, munching on a chicken piece. “Baby, come and eat. The noodles just arrived so it’s still warm. Eat it before it gets cold.”

Usually, you would chide Yeosang for eating fried chicken with beer at night time, adding that he’s becoming a father before you even had one. He had dismissed them but you knew he would secretly do his routine after you were asleep on nights where he couldn’t sleep and needed time to himself. This time round, he didn’t bother hiding it from you, knowing you shared his fate. You grabbed yourself a can of beer and opened it.

“You can have that later, dig in first.” Yeosang said, grabbing the beer from your hand and placing it on the table before passing you the box of noodles. Nodding slightly, you took the food and opened it, a small smile forming on your face as you were greeted with your favourite type of noodles.

“Thank you, honey.” You mumbled, grabbing the chopsticks he had already opened for you. Mixing the noodles thoroughly, you fed yourself a huge portion and hummed in satisfaction. Your empty stomach wanted more since you hadn’t eaten anything except for a granola bar before you left for work. The noodles were gone in the snap of a finger, making Yeosang chuckle at you.

“Have some chicken,” He said, pushing the spicy one to you. Taking one piece from the box, you looked at him as the corner of your lips slowly curved into a smirk. “You’re sharing because you don’t want me to question you tomorrow, right?”

Donning his surprised look, he made a cross using his arms and shook his head while laughing. “No, not at all. I ordered a lot today, to share it with my lovely wife.”

“Yeah, you definitely don’t want me screaming tomorrow.” You laughed back, picking your beer up and drinking it.

Eventually, all your worries were washed away as the both of you shared Yeosang’s comfort food along with more cans of beer, on the intention of getting wasted on a Friday night, only for hangovers to greet you two the next morning.
