The Road and transport authority, RTA Dubai, has come up with many road projects for the past few years. They have worked and carried out many plans successfully for the welfare and benefits of the residents here in Dubai. Among their successful schemes, the one which is now gaining popularity is the use of public transport. RTA expects 30% of its residents to make use of public transportation for both convenience and also to make Dubai an environmentally friendly country.

The most common modes of public transportation in Dubai are the bus, metro, and taxi. The preferred mode of transportation by the residents is the bus. While the metro gives services at only a few locations in Dubai and it is difficult to avail of the service of taxi especially in the rush hour, bus service provides affordable service every 15 min and to almost all the destinations in every part of the emirate.

Luxury Buses are the most preferred and alternative mode of public transportation, especially when traveling to distant locations. It is designed to fit about 10–15 passengers so that there is enough space for each passenger to stretch their legs and move around.
