i’m trying to remember a home series that went this badly in recent history and am failing, Oh dear, oh dear. Even during the shittiest eras (early 2000s) we still performed well at home against strong teams (i.e. whitewash against south africa in 2004). Today is going to be painful for the established players but especially for the new players who had their debuts. I really hope the SLC can capitalise this as a learning experience but I have my doubts. This new era without the Greats is very shaky but hopefully a consistent, high performing team will get built with some time. But there are more retirements to come and so many injury concerns due to mismanagement of players as well. So many problems need to be fixed and meanwhile the touring schedule is busier than ever and we’re playing india in august an then NZ in october. none of this shit is gonna get fixed by then
