There are several apps called “speech jammers” that plays the sound of your speech back at a small delay. When you wear earphones and hear your own voice delayed as you speak it often makes speaking really difficult and slow. It’s fun! You should try it!

Those of us that were fortunate enough to have had a counseling and ethics component to our education were provided a hefty helping of unconditional positive regard. Of presumed competence.

Set personal preferences aside so that your  knowledge and expertise can mingle with patient preferences.

Approach each session as though the client is motivated and capable, and simply lacks the scaffolding to achieve their highest possible performance.

Probe for gaps in knowledge and areas of stimulability.
