Getting ready for a new challenge #theteacherstablescraps3to5 for 2023 set by Elaine @theteacherstablecrafts to use the scraps in our stash. For this month I have selected four pieces of fabric and four threads so far. I cut one piece of fabric into four that are just over 3" square. It’s in my genes to have a passion for fabrics, and all the beautiful sewing notions, vintage patterns and buttons. My sister and I treated my Grandma Vina’s button tin like treasure. On sunday’s I would draft ‘patterns on butchers paper, and would play in the sewing room and make dresses for my dolls while grandma cooked the traditional lamb roast. I’m still a slow stitch method sewer,making everything with the tiniest most obsessive stitches. ..Even curtains! Grandma taught me how to pull dresses apart and make a pattern onto newspaper.
