even tho my fave snowboarder didnt get a medal this olympics, im still proud that he managed to get to the finals despite his concussion. good job mark mcmorris i will forever cheer for you!!!
The one commentator in the women's snowboard slopestyle final was so mad and losing his mind at the low judging scores that seemed to favor one competitor. Just yelling "HOW? WHY?" and comparing scores side by side like he's the Charlie "Pepe Silva" meme.
I myself am very clueless on scoring. Did he ever find out why? Was it a conspiracy or was he missing something the judges favored?
Mari Fukada Takes Gold in Women's Snowboard Slopestyle at Milan Cortina Olympics 씨유티비스포츠🏅❄️
At the 2026 Milan Cortina Winter Olympics, Mari Fukada of Japan wowed the crowd and claimed the gold medal in the women’s snowboard slopestyle event, marking Japan’s fifth gold of the Games and matching their record from the 1998 Nagano Olympics. Fukada’s flawless run at Livigno Snow Park, featuring a switch backside 1260 mute grab and two 720s, outshone fierce competition, including the defending champion, Zoi Sadowski Synnott of New Zealand. Let’s take a closer look at this incredible victory and what it means for Fukada, Japan, and the sport of snowboarding! 🏂🇯🇵
Fukada’s Gold Medal Run: A Perfect Debut 🥇🌟
At just 19 years old, Mari Fukada made an unforgettable Olympic debut, taking home the gold in the women’s snowboard slopestyle. Fukada’s performance was nothing short of spectacular, as she landed a series of complex tricks that included the challenging switch backside 1260 mute grab. With a final score of 87.83, she secured the top spot, leaving her competitors behind.
After the event, Fukada shared her emotions: “I was really frustrated with my result in big air, so I switched my focus and reminded myself that slopestyle was still ahead,” she said. This shift in mindset was key to her success, as she channeled her frustration into a flawless run that won the gold. With this impressive victory, Fukada has firmly established herself as one of the top names in snowboarding. ❄️💪
The Fierce Competition: Sadowski Synnott and Murase’s Struggles 🥈🔥
While Fukada’s performance stole the spotlight, it wasn’t without stiff competition. Zoi Sadowski Synnott, the defending Olympic champion from New Zealand, took home the silver medal with a score of 87.48. Despite coming so close to retaining her title, Sadowski Synnott expressed admiration for Fukada’s skill and composure. "She definitely deserved the gold," the New Zealand athlete said, acknowledging the brilliance of Fukada’s performance.
Japan’s own Kokomo Murase, already a gold medalist in big air, placed third in slopestyle with a score of 85.80. Although Murase was thrilled with her overall success at these Olympics, she couldn’t hide her disappointment at missing out on a second gold. “I felt I delivered the perfect routine that could win gold, but I didn’t get the score I expected,” she said. Murase’s determination remains strong, however, and she’s already setting her sights on a gold in the next Olympic Games. 🥉✨
Japan’s Historic Achievement: Matching the 1998 Nagano Record 🏅✨
Fukada’s victory has pushed Japan’s total gold medal count at the Milan Cortina Olympics to five, equaling their performance at the 1998 Nagano Winter Olympics. This achievement is monumental for Japan, showcasing the strength and talent of their athletes on the world stage. With 22 total medals already secured, Japan is once again proving to be a major force in winter sports.
Fukada’s success has also highlighted Japan’s growing presence in snowboarding, a sport that continues to gain popularity around the world. 씨유티비스포츠 has been closely following the Games, bringing fans all the latest news and highlights from the competition.
