Unfortunately for some, feather length is genetic and tied to sex and ethnicity, and a fully mature feather doesn't grow any longer.

Different parts of a sloman's body will have different feather types of various lengths. Though nothing as complex as that of an Earthly bird, they also molt and replace their old coat and deal with pin feathers. So if someone isn't fond of their head feather length, they will have to fix it up each molt and hope to not get a terrible haircut that lasts with them for a whole season.

But feather extensions are common and a traditional modification in many families across the slom cultures, especially for women.

Serious question but would it be easy for a sloman to fall into a cult or something like that?

I would say- yes and no. It depends on casts and groups.

But given that many men don't get to have a regular life without being in a family in some places, it can get desperate.

There's a reason why ciwa basically has slave labor done by some families in a form of "extra" husbands. Not everyone gets an easy way out so it's good to be a little careful who you devote yourself to.

Most men get to leave a bad situation, some can't. Some get into terrible place and can leave. But won't.

Perhaps one could call that a cult in bunch of cases. But much more often it would be some sort of crime hole.

It's not so easy to make a cult seem like a regular family. The structure lends itself better for something like a village.

In some ways slomen can be more careful about relationships than humans. But it's more expected they get into them to have any sort of security.

But

A human has a likelier chance of being alienated from their peers, feeling all alone and ending up in a cult that pretends to love them more than anybody outside. A human can mentally disconnect from even their closest.

A sloman has to be all on their to be truly alienated. Unless they are a bio man or smt.

Would they like like us

Well. You are a freaky creature. Like a sloman stripped of it's coat and covered in butter and taller, heavier with strange rotating ball eyes, that stuffs creepy. How do they even hold in there?

Either way, slomen do have pretty different needs in terms of social stimulation and structure to their relationship.

I would not recoment dating a single sloman in most cases, and even ones who would prefer it will need non-human care. Those slomen might already have difficulties that won't be fixed by simply assuming a place of a human.

I recoment 3 and more so they can always stay in contact. Most actions are better done together, don't expect a lot of privacy.

Try to not read all expressions as you would for humans. While similar in a shared environment, some may have multiple uses or 'dialects'.

Most humans might find it easier to keep a relationship with either Uniima species who socially more align with humans (though not 1 to 1). However, misunderstandings are quite common for those.

I don't have the super specifics but slomen straight up see in RYB. (without much mixing).

So shades of red, blues and yellows, oranges and browns. They might see a tiny bit deeper into infrared than humans.
