The Current State of “SleepyGames”
Awful Hospital shitposting has been a major part of this blog for the past months, and I know a lot of you want to hear from the “SleepyGames” part I’ve plastered all over this blog and never removed.
First thing’s first: SleepyGames has been a mess of scrapped ideas, ideas I don’t have the time or skill to create, and a huge lack of motivation. I don’t want it to stay this way. I write down every idea I have, games or otherwise, and a lot of the projects I make are just distractions from how stressed school makes me.
Here’s a fun mockup I made, the current state of THIS project is also unknown:
MESSENGER
“Messenger” was the name of a game I had been working on since my senior year of high school, nearly four years ago! I’ve made little progress outside of story and some sprites I’m not happy with. College is hard, go easy on me!
If you’ve been living under a rock, you might not be aware that Devolver Digital beat me to the name. I have no ill opinion of them. Hotline Miami is one of my favorite games, and The Messenger looks pretty neat. I’ve decided to go back to my game’s original name: Courier. I’ve also been toying with a sort of prequel project, one which might actually come out first, following a significant lore story that the main game hinges upon. I couldn’t find a good way to make it seem important to Courier’s world, and I think following that adventure first might be a great way to stress the importance.
I don’t know, I’ll get a real update out when I have real content.
