Deadpaw - 45 moons - Tom - Gorseclan

-Deadpaw was born in Thornclan to two respected members of the clan, the leader of the clan, Venomstar and Ferretclaw. His birth name was Slatekit

-Slatekit was a quiet kitten, who was half-blind. He kept to himself, being the only kit of the litter to make it to their first moon. 

-Slatepaw was given Reedtooth as a mentor, who was gentle and guiding for the young cat. Slatepaw learned fast, and was a skilled apprentice, surprising even his parents. Though he was flattered, Slatepaw didn’t enjoy this attention too much.

-He became a warrior without much time passing, becoming Slateleap. He was given an apprentice quickly. Tigerpaw gave him a lot of trouble and made his question if he really was meant to teach or lead, but he still was able to train her despite her roughness. 

-After his mother’s passing, the new deputy made Slateleap deputy, despite heavy protests from the warrior. 

-The leader didn’t last too long, acting recklessly in battles. A terrible sickness shoots through the clans and is what takes the leader's last life.

-Now Slatestar, he was nervous to go to the moon tree. With his warriors guarding the entrance to the sacred grounds, Slatestar lied about gaining his 9 lives. 

-After only two moons as leader, Slatestar was unable to take the pressure of being the leader, which was worsened by his lies to his clanmates about his lives. He left, running to be a rogue. 

-He stumbled into Gorseclan very shortly after becoming a rogue, too ashamed to go back to his original clan, but unable to keep himself alive. He was sick, hungry, and wounded from being alone.

-Gorseclan hesitantly accepted him into the clan, and Slateleap found comfort with Adderleaf, the only cat to really accept him. Shrewstar stripped him of his name. 

-Now Deadpaw, he was originally given no training or duties other than cleaning the elders or gathering bedding, but Adderleaf had begged to allow Deadpaw a second life as a medicine cat apprentice. After enough begging, Shrewstar permitted it.
