I’m not sure how they bungled it so badly before the series even starts. How many years were spent building up the world and lore, and now they’re just wiping it all away. Damnit.
yeah, and quite literally the reason they released this announcement in February is bc of the leaks that happened a few months prior
i didn't want to believe the leaks bc already i was concerned with how this would change everything so yeah here we are
i did see someone on twitter bring up something interesting: air is the element of freedom, and Aang's story was all about freeing the world from tyranny. Water is the element of change, and Korra's story is all about change. Earth is the element of substance. This earth Avatar's story is probably going to be all about stabilizing the world after the many changes Korra brought about.
I just still don't like that the Avatar is a 10yr old here. Someone on tiktok said they're probably going to aim this show at younger kids again bc that's the direction Nickelodeon has been going for its target audience nowadays, but i'm worried it's going to be too kiddish
and yes yes i know atla originally was a kids show too but they managed to combine very mature topics with kid-like whimsy. I hope it'll have the same energy i'm just not optimistic. the problem is that kids in the atla show were quite different from the ones in tlok, which worked with the respective stories but still. I hope they'll base this kid's behavior more on atla than on tlok, bc the ones in tlok genuinely bothered me (sorry s4 ikki and meelo)
