“Listen,” Mateo said, gesturing toward the weight rack and sighing. “I think there was a screw loose. I know for a fact I put that fifty pounder properly back in it’s place.” He moved around Skylar and leaned down to pick it up. “To quote The Breakfast Club, screws come loose all the time.” He smirked as he put the weight back in his place. “The world is an imperfect place.” // @skylarsfm​

“They never cease to amaze me when it comes to decor,” Maia said, coming up beside Skylar with a glass of water in her hand. She looked over at the other, offering her a gentle smile. “How was your break?” she asked, raising her eyebrows at Skylar curiously. // @skylarsfm​

“You know, I would be enjoying this shit a lot more if it wasn’t outside,” Mateo said, sniffling as he brought his hand up to rub his nose, scrunching it and then letting it drop. “Do you know how fucking high the tree pollen is right now? I think my throat wants to eat itself.” // @skylarsfm​

“It’s almost funny that we have this class together,” Mateo teased, smirking as he held his hands up in front of his face in case Skylar were to go on the offensive and attack. He circled around her on the mat, eyes only on her. “I think you’re just going to use it as an excuse to kick my ass constantly.” // @skylarsfm​

“So, did you end up having a good night? You know, on New Year’s,” he asked, pulling the boxing wraps out of his bag and starting to wring them around his hands. “Did you end up getting a kiss or whatever? Anything interesting?” // @skylarsfm​

“Okay, so I definitely need you to help,” Maia said as she came up with her bowl of fruit, sitting down next to Skylar and looking over at her expectantly. “I know that you’re in self defense, right? Like, the class. Well, I’m in Intro to Hand to Hand and I need someone to practice with. I was planning on doing it with Rafe but I want to spar with someone that’s not a... rather large man who has been fighting since before he knew how to walk.” // @skylarknightt​
