Wispy brows pucker together, a slender digit tracing the empty space on her wrist where her bracelet once rested, “   Oh no.   ” The words slip from her lips in mortifying realization that she’d lost one of the very few things she had left to treasure. Teal hues dart around the ground as she spun on her heel, searching for anything that resembled the wooden beads. But who knew how long it’d been since she’d last had it around her wrist. Did the string give way and let the beads loose along the ground? Had they fallen all at once or slowly over time? She’d arrived in the quaint village just after dawn and unless her memory had begun to rot, she was certain it’d been present then. But just what happened in the time between then and now? Her hands slap against her cheeks, pressing them in as she struggled to piece together the timeline.

Every imaginable synonym for idiot went through her head as she mumbled to herself; retracing her path in hopes that no one had ran off with it. She spoke with shop owners and villagers alike, but no one seemed to have seen it, but they’d at least been kind enough to promise a watchful eye. Thunder begins to rumble throughout the land as she exits another shop, her eyes wandering as others raced inside. Great. “   Now it’s raining? Gods, just what did I spend all my good luck on?  ” She lets out a pathetic whine, squinting through the rain for her next destination when a hand rests against her shoulder and pulls her from her self-deprecating thoughts. 

Bright eyes follow the hand back to its person with an addled expression, but it quickly turns into shock when she sees the outstretched hand and the bracelet nestled within it. She gasps, “ My bracelet! ” She practically squeals in delight, worry drained from her body as she completely disregards the rain; happily sliding it from his hand and cupping it to her chest.“   Thank you, thank you! You don’t know how much this means to me that you’d re— oh!   ” A bright smile curves at her lips,

Even though she had a point, Len wasn’t willing to admit she was right. That would mean conceding something to her, admitting she’d won, and that simply was not allowed. He didn’t have the chance to argue, however, as she distracted him by dragging him away. Len was far larger and heavier than Kurai, and though it would likely have been impossible for her to truly drag him, he went willingly behind her, putting up no fight whatsoever.
