Skunk Train por Thomas Hawk
12/6/21 As controversy raged over the Skunk train land grab of the Ft Bragg mill site, we decided to try the railbike trip up the Noyo River. We hike a switch-backing trail from Sherwood Rd down to the east side of the collapsed tunnel. 15 mile RT out to Camp Noyo for a picnic lunch. Mushrooms plentiful. Pedaling the rail bike then Hike back up the trail made for an excellent workout. 10-3. At $75/local person was a very reasonable price. $250 for non local seems a bit steep. An intimate access to redwoods and Noyo River was a pleasure. This could be an excellent opportunity for teaching about this ecosystem.
Train tracks and a promotion for the skunk train, seen in Fort Bragg,CA.
