What if Skulker and a reluctant Valerie have to take the halfas to the Fentons and reveal their secret identities.

Not from the beginning as I want this to be a Good Parents Fentons au (or at the very least well meaning). I like the idea of Jack figuring it out first and while he doesn’t confront Danny immediately (he listens to Jazz when she talks about psychology) he does try hinting to Maddie that Danny is a halfa.

There is one other fic I can think of that has Mentor Skulker in it (“The Nuanced Relationship between Hunter and Prey”, check that one out too) unfortunately it doesn’t use the tag 😔

But like genuinely, the potential is right there. Why isn’t the tag used more often 😭

Basically I want that, because he's a halfa and not a full ghost, it messes with his ability to be perceived as Very Baby™ and it has ✨consequences ✨

'Muffled chirping irritating his chest again.'

Danny doesn't need help.

The GIW is out in force. Danny dodges shots from below as he focuses on driving Skulker towards the invisible rift above amity.

'Why do you hate me.'

Fucking Skulker. You shouldn't be here.

Danny launches towards the ghost, the idea/memory of metal crunches beneath his hands, throwing the hunter back.

'Come back...'

People are in danger.

Danny lets gravity help pull him faster. A final shot from Skulker rips through his shoulder, sending him off course directly into a burning giw shot.

'Pain help pain.'

Fucking GIW.

Danny's head is spinning. The burn hasn't gone down. It's melting into him. He struggles to drag the half buried bystander out of the way before immediately dragging the giw fire upwards.

'Hurt pain hurt please help'

Need to make it to frostbite...

Danny collides with a floating chunk of rock. He struggles against the pull of the void. He can feel Skulker is still in range. If he catches him vulnerable...Vlad is the best case scenario.

'.......'

Skulker stares at the melting ghost.

Phantom can't be a ghost.

Frozen with the rifle still raised. He hears the unmuffled(?) core song, mourning and defiance intertwined. The beating core of stardust and cold rippling through the void.

His gentle touch triggers the underlying panic. Begging from the core rings through him. For what kind of mercy he can't be sure anymore.

The body melts into stardust and frost, the shimmering opal like heart hovers gently in his palms. It's deep blue and shimmering, radiating fear.

So now Danny has to deal with Skulker straight up asking him when was the last time he took a break from his binder before their fights. All the in name of a good hunt, of course. Danny can appreciate the support, but it’s a little intense; Sam is already on his case about it. It doesn’t help that she literally started teaming up with the hunter on Danny’s overall health.

So imagine, Skulker planning to hunt down Danny as per usual when he finds the poor boy stuck in a changing room stall because his binder broke after some bad luck in a pervious ghost battle. So Danny is just twiddling his thumbs waiting for someone to bring a new binder when Skulker just appears in front of him. He has the usual speech ready but Skulker notices that Danny just brings his knees up and attempts to hide his chest.

His first thought that someone else is stealing his prey but as he questions Danny, Skulker is given the briefest explanation on transgender people. Of course, being a non-human ghost, Skulker has no idea how this applies to the current situation. He does let Danny go for the day because clearly the boy isn't going to be good sport today.

Several months later, after a lot of shenanigans, Skulker is seen with Danny Phantom (who is wearing a trans flag like a cape) at a Pride Parade. People feel very safe around him because Skulker has been intimidating the protestors into shutting up.

Bonus:

Later, when Danny Fenton with his friends and family appear, the Fenton couple give Skulker an ally flag. He may be a spook but he has been helping Danny out when they couldn't. They also happen to like his vibe and would like to see if he would be down to hang out and talk shop.
