There he is and he’s been dubbed William after Shakespeare since we paid half on his birthday.
Now… the canvas needs to be prepared.
Front to back, and back to front from the inside.. and all those seats have to come out!

This… is our bus at the moment. Half paid off as of April 23rd. The other half will be paid at the beginning of July… and that’s when the real work begins. By that I mean… the bane of any skoolie… the removal of the bus seats.
These pictures were taken by me mostly to show my husband the position of the belly boxes. Weeds prevented that endeavor, for the most part. Then a wasp showed too much interest in me and I beat a hasty retreat.

Today was the first day in a new monthly partnership with Nelson County Public Schools. I’ll be alternating monthly visits with at Tye River and Rockfish River Elementaries. Many of these students were enrolled in remote learning when they were developing reading skills in 2020-21. I look forward to learning more about what they like, and have already taken requests: Lego books, Dogman, and “cat books, like, a LOT of cat books.” 💕🚌😊
A family of 4 was living in this skoolie that they converted themselves, but have sold it and are now working on their 2nd skoolie, b/c they’ve had a 3rd child to make it a family of 5 (plus a chihuahua).
Love the blue kitchen.
Small children bathe in the farm sink.
Little Atlas, the new addition, was in a bassinette suspended from the ceiling.
Sister Nora’s crib is across the way, and the sofa converts to a bed. Mom Hannah says that they keep the back of the bus open for sleeping b/c they’re not sure how many children they want, yet.
There’s a sleeping area for brother Oliver at the foot of the parent’s bed.
The kitchen table with stools is across from the stove. That’s convenient.
Closet space in the hall.
Yes, with 3 children it can sometimes get messy.
The toilet and sink are in a separate room.
The shower is lovely and even has a seat. What do you think of a family of 5 living in a skoolie? Actually, I’ve seen larger families in a bus.
