Fluff week ⁷ - Your Grandma said what?!

Lmao, okay- okay. So hear me out... I had no idea where I was going doing sketchy panels/comics- zero direction. I kinda just went with whatever popped into my head.

Firstly, Shippo. My dear wee bean. I totally imagine this lil baby when he first wakes holds his tail like a comfort blanket. Like, please. Please don't take that from me. He even has his mama's cardigan on his shoulders. 😭

Second, I love her. Inukimi would 100000% be the one to be like- oh my son has interest in another- hold on. How many buttons can I push until he either a)Snaps or b)Embarrassment. She would be the one to play chicken with a train.

Honestly (also), I think she would just love Shippo. Like omg he's cute and a menace- Omg me too! 🤣💖

I do hope you've enjoyed this fluff week. Thank you for putting up with my panels not being the cleanest and my delays. I enjoyed this silliness. 🥹💖

She admired the tiny, scrunched-up face and revelled in the familiarity of the warm weight clutched snugly to her chest. She bent in, pressing her nose right between the small, furry triangular ears that twitched in a response.

That newborn smell. It was intoxicating.

Tears pricked her eyes and her heart somehow was simultaneously floating and weighed down by the enormity of this tiny creature in her arms. 

A hand settled on her shoulder, steady and assuring as it grounded her with a gentle squeeze. His breath tickled her ear a moment before his low voice rumbled the soft question: "Do you miss it?"

The smile bloomed on her lips, swift and sure and her slanted gaze found a pair of knowing golden eyes.

"A little. But not enough to go through all of it again, even if it was possible," she confessed with a laugh. “No, this, where we are now, feels just right, don’t you think?”

He pressed a kiss on her temple. “I do.” His claw-tipped finger brushed the baby’s chubby cheek, so achingly tender. “She is perfect.”

“Our little one’s first. Can you believe it?” The smile she flashed him was tremulous.

“Hnn,” Sesshoumaru hummed. “I remember when he was this tiny.”

“Just yesterday,” Kagome agreed, her voice light and teasing. “Well, grandpa. Would you like to hold her?”

“Eventually. For now, I will hold her grandmother and let her enjoy the moment.”

She laughed and leaned against him, enjoying his warm solid strength and the tender cage of his arms as she smiled down at the child she was holding against her heart.

Summary:

Yokai have a very different way of welcoming newborns.
