#skeleton hell

Not all of Muffet’s spiders are monsters.  Some - the ones most commonly found whole or semi-whole in her baked goods for the unique taste and texture she’s known for - are simply normal spiders.  They aren’t great bakers and not much for intelligent conversation over tea, but she cares for them all the same.  

They are able to come and go from the barrier as they please, of course.  They have no magical bodies or monster souls to prevent them from leaving.  And in return for all of her kindness and protection bordering on mothering, they return with snippets and details of the world outside the barrier for her.

“It is spring, now,” they say.  

“There was a storm,” they sigh.  “We lost a number of our troupe to the flooding waters.”

“We traveled far this time, and encountered some humans,” says the lone spider to return one day.

“We have kept to the forest this time.  Today we found a human home in the middle of a vast ocean of grass,” says the next group, all returned safe and sound with no casualties.

“That human spotted a number of us catching a meal outside her window,” they say the next time.

“One of ours braved crawling into an open window.  The human shut the window.  He is lost.”

Then, the time after that: “He is returned to us, limbs and body intact.  He says the human spared him and returned him to the forest, despite her shaking hands.”

Frisk breaks the barrier, but is not so sure that simply showing up on humanity’s doorstep right away is the safest option.  What to do, then, while they formulate their plans?
