#sixth destroyer

It had been a rough year so far after moving to this town.

Work was definitely not as abundant for a single gal like herself with maybe five dollars to her name. Odd jobs were the go-to for her, and thankfully how she met a few of her new friends in town. Every now and then they'd throw her a bone when they heard of something that could earn her some extra cash, which she was grateful for.

There was only so many days you could live off of bargain bread and soda crackers.

... especially when your friends tried to eat all you had in one inhale.

"Goku, get out of my pantry!" Sabs spat at the Saiyan when she saw him go through her tiny kitchen.

"But I'm STARVING."

You could hear a pin drop as the young woman glared daggers at the taller man for his comment. He backed out of the little pantry with his hands up in surrender.

"Right...my bad. Sorry," he apologized, momentarily forgetting that she was eating less than he was. "Oh! Right...that reminds me of why I came."

He grabbed a cardboard box that he had placed on her worn kitchen table earlier and slid it over to her with a big grin on his face.

"My boss wanted me to deliver this, but I thought you should do it and get the money for it. He was gonna basically give me your rent for doing that!"

Sabs jaw dropped. "You're kidding. For just delivering a box?"

"It's a special gift for his brother," Goku explained cheerfully. "So you know it's important. That's probably why he was gonna dish out so much cash- but I figured you should take an easy job like this. He's already got me doing all kinds of other jobs..." Goku sighed and loosened up his tie. "I'm beat, honestly."

"Yeah, you haven't been working for this guy long, huh? Must be rough wearing a suit all the time," Sabs joked.

"It's the worst!" Goku grumbled. "But it's what I gotta do. At least he stopped trying to fix my hair." That was a task no one could ever achieve. "So, what do you say?"

"An easy job like this? Count me in." If she could get ahead on rent by one month she could get a savings built up. Maybe even fix the hole in the wall later by the front door.

It was in the late afternoon when Sabs went off to deliver the package. The rest of the day looked great, but of course when she decided to go out the rain clouds started rolling in. She had her light jacket on and was soaked through, but was trying her best to shield the package from the heavy rain as she rode her bicycle to the other side of town. It would have taken two hours if it wasn't raining, but it felt like an eternity with it.

She had no idea what time it was by the time she peeled into the street she was told to go to. Street lamps were lit, but the clouds were so dark and dense you couldn't tell if there was any sunlight left in the day. She kept her eyes peeled for any houses, but the street seemed eerily void of anything but stretches of lowland.

"Weird...did Goku give me the wrong address?" She asked herself as she kept pedalling. She hoped not, or she wasted a whole afternoon for nothing. A part of her thought she should call it off and go home, but she decided to go just a bit further to see if there was anything down the road.

After five minutes, she was at a gate with the address number on it. She hopped off her bike and peered through the thick rain past the gate to see not a house, but the outline of a mansion.

"His boss's brother lives here? Damn..." She couldn't make out the details, but she was impressed with the size alone.

Sabs tried to open the gate, but it was locked up. Of course it was. And the fencing around it went on for who knows how long around the property, so finding a back way would take too long.
