CDV stalks, kills and drains a rabid dog right by Stanley's house which leads to an overdose of sorts that nearly kills him...were it not for Stanley's swift intervention. Not exactly out of care and love for him, more so because the death of a vampire would get his whole neighbourhood locked down and the affected area disinfected and torched. He has a date. He is not going to miss out because CDV elected his house to die in front of. Recovery from a rabies overdose is pretty straightforward: after the fever breaks the body of the affected cools down rapidly and goes into a sort of shock which can be mitigated and reversed by manually warming the body. What else do we know about rabies? They make feral creatures act tame and the disease has been known to result in an extreme fear of water. Guess who is getting a nice scalding hot bath to get his body temperature back up 😊 fingers crossed its the worst CDV will ever experience because I'm planning to follow up with a real nice scene of him sort of "sobering up" but still being a tad bit needy and addicted to warmth. Stanleys punishment is having Charles cuddle up with him still soaking wet and grinding against him and murmuring about how warm and good he feels (and getting a hard on about it) (+this is my thinly veiled attempt to make rabies blood a staple of the genre because I made it up and I need more of it neeeoooowww)

Might I say before we dive in that I tried to avoid the "easy" ways out whenever possible, so I did not assign a character like Hodgson the piano or Fitzjames the dress even though it was very tempting at times :) I also learned that tumblr has a 10 picture limit per post - I would have liked to include the headshot and item displayed right next to each other but alas. Here are my extended thoughts for the more peculiar picks that I expect to raise some questions

Sir John Franklin - for comedic effect and nothing else. Nobody is fond of that poor monkey. Lets make it worse by giving her an outfit and some cymbals!

James Fitzjames - I was torn between THE dress or an union jack. Both seemed too easy. Then I figured a guy like him, who is so obsessed with England and Being English that he dressed up as Britannia would for sure have one of the most iconic figures of the island galloping circles around his head. Also: must look cool as fuck.

Thomas Blanky - Didn't want it to be forks or Tuunbaq and that left the story about Reindeers looking like proper little ladies. What a potent mental image LMAO

Thomas Jopson - God he was so upset to catch Crozier shaving himself. That man has the most delightful neck, I would also be sorry for the loss of access to it.

John Irving - Guy voted most likely to see the flayed corpse of God before passing away. What more can I say? I feel like this would express what would undoubtedly be a crisis of faith in the face of certain death by starvation.

Harry Goodsir - I remember the expression of shock and dismay when he remembers that he forgot to take the ring as he had been asked to by poor Young so well it couldn’t have been anything else.

Alexander Macdonald - combination of the counting sheep bit + the mythical beloathed black sheep (of the family) archetype which I feel like he has a habit of attracting and being attracted to :)

Silna - Here I struggled because there are too many good options. I thought about going with seals, traditional pieces of clothing or traditional weapons but we are specifically looking at Silna during the period of her life where she interacts with / has been abducted by these men so I thought it might be relevant to reference that when making my decision. I quite liked the scene where she is offered treats and hates all of them (damm-bitch-you-live-like-this-?'ing Goodsir the whole time too lmao) so I settled for tea in those dainty mugs.

Cornelius Hickey - if I had a nickel for every time the charismatic leader of a doomed underdog group, had a weird obsession with the tropical island where he'd rather be than where he is right now, I'd have two nickels, which isn't a lot, but isn't it weird that it happened twice? All of that to say I could just envision him wearing the hawaiian shirt and drinking from a coconut with a little decorative umbrella in it.
