If you believe the Bible offers the truth about the way to salvation, but you have not taken the step to become a Christian, it's as simple as praying this prayer. You can pray by yourself, using your own words. There is no special formula. Just pray from your heart to God, and he will save you.Â
If you feel lost and don’t know what to pray, this video offers a salvation prayer that you can follow and pray along with: Romans 10: 9-13 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. Now this isn't me saying that there and Christians who are sacrificing lambs and sending them off into the wilderness to take away the sins of everyone at Walmart. I think there are a lot of Christians who pray the sinner's prayer every Sunday and invite Jesus into their heart at every altar call.
There's nothing wrong with the sinner's prayer just like how there's nothing wrong with inviting Jesus into your heart but that's the first step. Eventually you have to admit that Jesus died for you, you have been forgiven, there is nothing more you can do, no retreat to fall back on, and now it's time to be obedient.
