Eddie keeps taking. He tells Buck about Abuela trying a dating site for "mature people" and how his dad almost had a heart attack when he found out. He tells Buck about Chris' math homework and about his sister Sophia's new boyfriend. Eddie talks and talks and Buck lets himself be lulled into sleep by his voice— raspy and hoarse but so gentle and patient that it's impossible for Buck to feel anything but loved and seen.

Buck finally allows sleep to lap at his subconscious until he’s lulled into peace.
