@sindarweek Day Two: Elrond and Thranduil
A young Elrond and Thranduil. Since we have no real birth date for Thranduil he could, *technically*, have been born before the fall of Doriath. So here's Thranduil telling Elrond about Menelrond, his namesake*
*okay, potential namesake. But still, I really fell in love of the the later idea from "The Problem of Ros" that Elwing named him that in honor of Menelrond. One, I love the connection to the kingdom of Doriath. And two, I much prefer that Elrond's (and by extention Elros') names came from their parents. Ecspecially Elwing. We love Elwing in this house.
I headcannon that the Greenwood/Mirkwood royal family hold Elrond (and family) in some level of reverence. They're the direct line of Thingol (and many others). Elrond is the son of the last princess of Doriath.
