Today marks the 60th birthday of the BBC children’s magazine show Blue Peter
Michael Sundin was a Blue Peter presenter from September 1984. He was memorably awarded the job after being featured on the programme as the performer playing Tik-Tok from Return to Oz
The show’s editor, Biddy Baxter, denied that he was sacked the following year because he was gay: "It was his leaving the programme because children didn’t like him – nothing to do with his sexual proclivities"
Sadly he died of AIDS in 1989, aged 28

This Reagan-Thatcher Era proto-Segway was created by English entrepreneur and inventor Sir Clive Sinclair and was an instantaneous commercial flop. The vehicle later developed a small cult following with some C5 enthusiasts substantially “modding” their C5s.
