Hey! I'm going to walk you through creating your own pattern using the Pattern Tool in TSRW. This tutorial works for both Sims 3 and Sims Medieval - the tools are the same for both games.
🎨 WE'LL NEED:
TSRW
A graphics editor — Photoshop, Paint.net, or any other
Sims3Pack Multi Installer - Converts files from .sims3pack to .package format
1. Creating the image
Start by making a 256x256 image using only Red, Green, and Blue. If you want a fourth color, you can use the Alpha channel (I'll show you how to create such an image in the notes at the end of this guide).
Save your image as PNG, DDS, or BMP.
❗ Do not use images that contain colors other than pure Red, Green, or Blue. Otherwise, they will become distorted when recolored in-game.
2. LAUNCH AND CREATE A NEW PATTERN
Open TSRW. In the top menu, go to Tools and select Pattern Tool - the pattern creation window will open.
3. IMPORT YOUR IMAGE
Click the Browse button and select your file.
4. CONFIGURE THE CHANNELS
On the right side of the window, you'll see checkboxes for each color channel: Red (1), Green (2), Blue (3), and Alpha (4).
Check the channels that are present in your image. Usually, these are the first three, but if your image has transparency, you can also use the fourth one.
Each checked channel can be recolored in-game with its own color. For each checkbox, you can set a default color by clicking the color swatch or entering a HEX code.
5. SAVE YOUR PATTERN
Fill in the Title and Description fields. Choose which in-game Category your pattern will appear under, and pick a Surface Type it will imitate (for example, fabric or wood).
If you imported your image in a format other than DDS, check the Use DXT compression box.
Click Export to create a .Sims3Pack file.
6. CONVERT FOR SIMS MEDIEVAL
For the pattern to work in TSM, you'll need to convert it to .package format using Sims3Pack Multi Installer or any other equivalent tool.
7. Place the file in your Mods folder and test it in game.
Cool!
✨ HOW TO USE THE ALPHA CHANNEL?
Every color you see on screen is created by mixing Red, Green, and Blue - these are the three RGB channels. The Alpha channel is a fourth channel that doesn't store color information; instead, it stores transparency levels for each pixel.
White (255) means fully opaque - the pixel is completely visible
Black (0) means fully transparent - the pixel is invisible
1. Open your image in a graphics editor that supports DDS files.
2. Go to the "Channels" tab and create a new channel by clicking the icon at the bottom.
3. Select the area you want and fill it with white.

EA Games has removed The Sims Medieval from its platforms
Two days ago (Friday, May 22), The Sims Medieval Community on Reddit discovered that the game is no longer available for purchase on official platforms.
I checked the EA Brazil website myself, and it’s no longer available. Redditors from the U.S., Canada, and Poland have also confirmed this.
Honestly? I was expecting this to happen sooner or later. After all, we’re talking about EA Games, aren’t we?!
I completely agree with what one Redditor commented: “I think this game didn’t take off as EA hoped, so they’re determined to spoil it for everyone.”
One of the more hopeful Redditors commented: “My guess would be an enhanced version coming at some point…” Let’s face it, that’s just a pipe dream.
Another Redditor speculated: “But it's also possible it's due to some licensing stuff… Sometimes games buy certain creative rights for a limited amount of time, and when it runs out, they just take the game off the shelves.” And he gave this example: “Katy Perry's Sweet Treat expansion is no longer available for purchase for TS3.”
🤷
Well… actually… regardless of the reason, for me (and for many in the TSM community) this decision makes absolutely no difference…
We still love TSM so much that we go crazy creating content to improve our gameplay; searching for, discovering, and writing guides and tutorials to fix bugs and other flaws that EA created and then abandoned.
We do this because we love the game itself and the untapped potential it holds.
We (The Sims Medieval Community) aren’t the type to abandon ship!
🧭 Captain Jack Sparrow has already rescued many sailors abandoned at sea, and he continues to rescue them…
This mod adds a family tree display to The Sims Medieval, converted from The Sims 3. It allows you to explore relationships and lineage for your characters.
To view a sim’s tree, click on them and select Family Tree from the pie menu.
Note that it does not work on infants directly, but you can still access them by navigating through their parents.
Known issues:
Quest characters may have incomplete data. In such cases, the tree will show only their name and surname, without a portrait.
UI may sometimes appear slightly misaligned.
Since this mod is in beta, minor glitches may occur.
I was browsing Nexus Mods earlier today, and it made me so happy to see new creators uploading their own mods for The Sims Medieval 💞
When I first requested a dedicated section for TSM on Nexus, I was turned down — because there simply weren't enough mods for the game. They opened it only after my second request. And for a long time… nothing.
Now? There are over six active authors sharing their work there. Six! It might not sound like much, but for a game this old and this niche, it's huge 💖
Nexus is one of my absolute favourite sites, and it's incredibly heartwarming to see that our little kingdom finally has a home there — with mods, updates, and people who still care.
Thank you to every creator who keeps this game alive. You make the Watcher proud 👁️
I want sims medieval in ts4 style but with more than one world map and tons of gameplay. Also with legacy playability since in the original your sims didn't age.

I must offer my apologies for my absence. Life has kept me occupied, but rest assured, the story has not been forgotten.
To make amends, I share with you the family trees of Windenburg and Bagley, taken from my main records. May they provide clarity as the story continues to unfold.
Thank you for your patience and support, more will come soon.
