My favorite subjects are universally intertwined..... Mercury - the closest planet to the sun - plays a "C sharp" with its orbit. The orbit of Venus runs the note "A", and the sequence goes on with the Earth (C sharp ), Mars (D), Jupiter (F sharp), Saturn (D), Uranus (G sharp), Neptune (G sharp) and Pluto (C sharp). At the end of the piece, after the final crescendo you can listen to the "sound" of the solar system, accelerated by more than 68 billion times in order to be audible to the human ear.(written by Giorgio Costantini) #TheDernTruth #SimpleComplexities #SoundOfMusic
The Earths atmosphere takes up much of the blue light given off from the Sun's pure white rays, leaving red/orange light and depending on how much dust and clouds are present in Earth's atmosphere, is one factor of this lunar eclipses 'Blood' or 'Red' Moon appearance. How Earth retracts the Sun's rays is imperative to this beautiful coloring as well. #TheDernTruth #TheDernUniverseIsWhereWELiveMaybe #ThisHappens2To4xAYear #WestCoastJustCantSeeIt #DependsOnYourLocation #MineIsSpectacular #Orbits #SimpleComplexities
Joan Higginbotham, from Chicago, began her NASA career in 1987 at the Kennedy Space Center as an engineer, unlike most astronauts that come from the military. The class of 96 astronaut candidate, went on her first flight as a crew member of the #Discovery's #STS116 mission in 2006. Again, ain't she fly though!! She has worked on virtually all the space shuttles in some capacity. She retired from NASA before her next assignment (#STS126) and moved to the private sector. #JoanHigginbotham #TheDernTruth #BlackHistoryMonth #20BlackAstronauts #SimpleComplexities #AfroAstronony #NASA #28Daysaaulyp
Who knew that this Class of 1980 astronauts candidate would be the leader of NASA?? Honorable Administrator Charles Bolden, Jr. was elected as the first African American Administrator appointed by Pres. Obama in 2009. Now on his second term, the Carson, CA local (kids were born at Long Beach memorial) has orbited lower space 4x and has logged more than 680 hours in space!!!? He is the first human to have his voice broadcast on Mars. He also once piloted the now infamous #Columbia and also my favorite shuttle the #Discovery, he also was the mission commander for space shuttle #Atlantis. In addition he launched the renowned Hubble Telescope . I've met him and he is humble, kind, and exudes intelligence. Great job Honorable Bolden!!!!! #YesNASAIsStillOperable #CharlesBolden #TheDernTruth #BlackHistoryMonth #AfroAstronony #NASA #20BlackAstronauts #SimpleComplexities #28Daysaaulyp
