They wed in secret in 2016, with Adele describing Simon as âperfectâ.
Having a child is a life-changing commitment, one that Adele and Simon made before marriage. If they managed to do this, why could they not sustain their eventual marriage for more than 2 years?Â
âAdele had found an exciting new social circle in LA and New York of strong Hollywood women who loved her for her humour and down to earth ways...Â

Itâs always great to find new friends. But are we to infer that because Adele became âsettledâ in her new Hollywood life, that she expected her marriage to adapt likewise?
âSimonâs charity business was booming and it meant he was travelling across the globe overseeing projects for weeks on end. His passion for his cause and his success just took him away from his wife.â
No it didnât.Â
Passion does not compel you to disregard your marriage vows and neither does business. You choose your priorities. Marriage and a career are not and have never been diametric opposites. That is a false dichotomy. But your vows to remain faithful to your spouse for life certainly deserve greater respect and care than the economic necessity of running a business-- regardless of your passion. Evidently, his passion for his work was stronger than his commitment to his marriage. Just say so plainly.Â

8 years might seem like so long, before you realise that they were only married for 2 of them. The âreasonsâ given above read like a clichĂŠd plot. From what I can see here, both were happy to conceive a child together, but not happy to put in the same level of work in order to sustain their marriage.
Just to give you a glimpse of how feeble these excuses are, imagine the following scenario. Adele and Simon Konecki announce via their publicist that they no longer want to raise their son. Adele is happy hanging out with Jennifer Lawrence, and Simon is just too invested in his business. In the end, they are barely together. Theyâll still be friends with their son, but right now their unconventional parenting isnât working. So they will call it quits for now.Â
Everybody would be up in arms.Â
