What a joyous day to celebrate the endless cycle of the Torah. As we dance with the scrolls, we celebrate a story that never ends, a constant source of life and light.
Today especially, we are reminded of the incredible power of hope and the joy of a circle being made complete.
May our celebration be full of happiness and gratitude 🩵

Two years ago was supposed to be a day of rejoicing. A day of joy. A day of happiness.
It wasn't.
Today is supposed to be a day of rejoicing. Sukkos.
But it's not.
Simchat Torah isn't the same.
Whatever holiday happens to fall on 7 October isn't the same.
It's Sukkot and all you can think of are the unbuilt sukkahs.
Kfir. Kfir should be a beautiful two-almost-three year-old. He should be causing mischief in the sukkah with his brother Ariel and Shiri should be hugging them.
The Abu Rasheds of Abu Qreinat should have a lovely two-year-old daughter, instead of a fourteen-hour-old corpse. (Her mother was shot while in labor. She survived. The baby didn't.)
How can I be happy?
But how can I let Hamas rule over my joy? How can I let them preclude me from happiness? How can I yield to them?
This is scheduled to post at 6:30 AM, Israeli time.
That is roughly when Hamas' invasion started two years ago.

So, I know that quite a few people know the Jewish joke: “they tried to killed us, we survived, let’s eat”, and a friend found this chart years ago explaining all the Jewish holidays and fast days through that joke, with one very important addition: TREES.
