I've been listening to orange caramel (who i actually really like), after school, t-ara, and girls' generation. i like f(x) but i've been listening to them for a while now. I am also now obsessed with Exo apparently.

My favorite memory of the Silver Theatre is the documentary that I saw a couple of years ago as part of SilverDocs about the animals, especially dogs, that were rescued in Louisiana after Katrina. I especially remember the part of the documentary that highlighted the man who was eventually reunited with his black lab. After the documentary was over, he was introduced to the audience and was here in the audience along with his lawyer. That was a moving and thrilling experience! --Ann Wakefield

My grandfather, Benjamin Franklin Becraft (born ca. 1874) moved to Silver Spring from Burtonsville, MD, before the theater was built. He lived in a house about where the theatre was built, around 1936. My father, Auston A. Becraft, often traveled to see his father & brother Arthur & Ruth Becraft. I came with my father & mother. I went on Saturdays to the Seco Theater on Georgia Ave to see Western movies and then to the Silver Theatre to watch afternoon shows ca. 1945. Many fond memories. My grandfather Benjamin moved to Dixon Ave, where the Metro station now stands. My uncle Arthur was employed at the Esso Station on Georgia Ave. At age 13, I came to Silver Spring, and worked at the Florida Ave Veg. Market with my grandfather-- I rode the street car from the viaduct down Georgia Ave and then transferred east on Florida Ave to the Farmers' Market. I'm an 8th generation Marylander and we were beekeepers from England (per the name, Becraft)! Happy 75th Anniversary! --Leonard Allen Becraft (b. 6/15/1938, age 75)

Seems like a delightful adventure, for two youngsters to take the bus up to Silver Spring to watch this classic film, that (according to the poster, above), "achieves one of the great entertainments in the history of motion pictures!"

My wife and I have been enjoying movie screenings and special events at AFI Silver for some time now. Our first was the stuntwoman documentary premiere with Lynda Carter (--ed: 2004's DOUBLE DARE). Other events of note include the BEST WORST MOVIE premiere; NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD, DAWN OF THE DEAD and DEAD SNOW at the end of several zombie walks; Jeff Krulik’s LED ZEPPELIN PLAYED HERE and HEAVY METAL PICNIC premieres; any Count Gore event; and the Spooky Movie Festivals that have taken place at AFI. --Doug Roemer

I said to my 10 year old son, "So Danny, how did you like this incredible film?" He said, "Dad, it was so long!" I guess 10 years old is a bit too young to appreciate great art. P.S. Please don't see this film for the first time on a tv screen. The first time viewing and appreciation of the cinematography will be spoiled. --Steve Harvith
