My old desktop background was like a 10~ year old piece of Undertale fanart, so I got my boyfriend to draw me a new one, featuring the OC I talk about a lot less since coming out; Silverheart.

shadowzel to demo the new patch let's gooooo
As someone who has gone through something like Shart, I think her and Lae'zel are absolutely awful for each other romantically. At least in game and right after.
They really need time away from that bullshit, not a partner that went through the same thing. Constantly bringing it up. They both want different things, have different ways to heal and cope. They'd be so bad for each other currently.
They are so much better as friends, the slow change of heart and perspective. Building respect and seeing they aren't alone. Way way too early for anything romantic, it'd be so so bad for them.
Honestly I don’t think it’s “bad for you” to have a partner with the same type of trauma. In order to work through trauma you need to think about it and sit with those emotions, not distract yourself from it. Regardless of who their partners are or if they are single they both need to think about what happened to them in order to heal. That /is/ the healthy thing to do. And it’s what they do in canon.
I will say, though, that when I think of shadowzel I do think of it being in the future. I think they do have their own journeys to take and to take one together would be to abandon the other since they take place on different planes of existence. And honestly I think the idea of waiting for someone until you’re both ready is peak romance to me.
All that said, it’s fine if the ship isn’t your cup of tea. I just don’t think it’s fair to say they’re bad for each other.

‘Ooooh Shadowheart and Lae’zel is so enemies to lovers’
Listen. Of course they are. Shadowheart has been tasked by her goddess to retrieve the Astral Prism, a Githyanki artifact that Lae’zel is sworn to protect. They try to kill each other at one point.
But that’s not All There Is To It, you feel me? Like that’s not the sole appeal. It’s not even the main appeal.
It’s about them having parallel character arcs. It’s about them being so very different but so fundamentally the same; having their lives stolen from them and molded into the design of an uncaring Goddess. Being a true believer, devout, ready to die for their cause. Only to realize the deception, to feel lost, aimless, without purpose. And having no choice to make their way forward.
It’s about the fact that they’re not *really* enemies, they never were. Rivals, perhaps. At odds at times, certainly. But at the end of it? The conflict between them was built on lies.
It’s about them finding solace in the only other person who knows their struggle; each other. It’s about them learning how to let down their guard and be vulnerable. It’s about them raising Xan together because they’re both free now.
