Reading someone else’s story: there’s a spelling and grammar mistake? Wow, I didn’t even notice. The human mind fills in gaps. Language is imperfect. Art transcends grammar. Everyone is doing their best and I love them because of that.

The hardest part about writing long fics is getting through the chapters where it feels like nothing is really happening. I know, as the author, that I’m laying the groundwork for everything that comes later like foreshadowing, character development, future twists, plot progression, etc but I still worry that posting one of those quieter, seemingly “empty” chapters will disappoint my readers 😩😭
