Information about Shuken? Where to start with him? Highly intelligent as a child, very perceptive and cruel in a calculating and cold way - as opposed to excitable, delighting-in-chaos kind of way. Fascinated with mythology and science; always trying to fuse the two ideas together - hence his experiments with the chimera. Easily bored by people, felt a constant lack of emotional attachment to anything but his sister until Shikaku - then the Nara obsession began.Trivia:

Appointed Naoki/Tenka as head of what Genma termed the ‘Freak Show’ gang

Loved to exert his ‘immunity’ and ‘carte blanche’ power over Katsu and the Nagu, knowing how much the Guardians hated him, but also knowing there wasn’t a damn thing the Nagu Butai could do about it.

Also enjoyed torturing Nogusa Yodo about being his ‘son’, aware that the old man deeply regretted ever adopting Shuken and his sister

While his movements were restricted and confined by the portals (which needed Nagu blood), he was happy to orchestrate all his plans through his lackeys/minions

Admired Orochimaru’s work but saw no higher purpose in it other than power and a quest for immortality - Shuken wanted something to ‘connect’ to in his controlled chaos

Only ate cold food as a child, wasn’t a fan of anything too hot or warm (unlike his sister)

Envied the ability to mould chakra, but was more interested in the psychological power of those around him than physical power

Was dying for years after Naoki injected him with the ‘natural energy’ but was too fascinated by his own transformation into a ‘Divine Beast’ to focus on a cure

Loved the scars Shikaku gave him

Would read myths to Kali every night and present mutated subjects to her like dolls

Though he created the chimera, he had no real investment in them - was more interested in pitting children against each other to observe their ‘learned behavior’ and how ‘survival’ and ‘base animal need’ take over

Because of his intellect, earlier in life Shuken often had trouble accessing his ‘baser’ needs (unlike his sister) so was in a constant battle to charm and provoke it in others, especially children/teenagers (since this was the age he realized he lacked a lot of the emotional intensity his sister had - never mind that she was borderline insane - she looked happy and blissful and indulgent and NEVER BORED and he wanted to feel that too)

After Kali’s death, he became much more emotional in private and began losing his impeccable control. He threw himself into carrying on his private experiments, feeling a growing emptiness - then along came Shikamaru and his obsession and need to “connect” began again - he desired that lost connection so badly that despite his growing insanity as he was dying, he tried to lure Shikamaru back years later (in UtS) by orchestrating the bad-batchdelivery of the soldier pills and chimera into Konoha as well as ordering his ‘freak show’ to let Naoki go
