Straight up finding things I have never seen before.
Adding onto my thoughts on the Shrek 5 teaser trailer:
I do think the characters and plot might seem very basic and stereotypical, for now, just because this franchise has such a high bar to meet upon its return?
People want to see these characters the way we left them, so I think a more nostalgia focused trailer (Shrek annoyed with Donkey, Donkey singing, the journey aspect being focused, and cheeky Gingy) is the draw needed for a lot of people who are tapped out of the franchise, but remember those things from it.
For those arguing AI could’ve generated the characters doing these things in the trailer, I believe you also would’ve been frustrated if these character dynamics were disturbed.

I was actually wondering if you had seen any images of the original Seattle test trial of the musical. I CAN find the images of the opening night (getty iirc ? Something like that - don't know if you've seen that)- but it's extremely hard to find stuff about its seattle run. It's making me feel crazy. Genuinely recently realized how under documented it is despite being based on one of the biggest IPs in animation.
anyway hope you're having a good time with the shrek 5 trailer 👍 I'm feeling more hopeful than I was with the teaser which was .... Visually weird compared to this trailer. Anyway im rambling. 😭

I actually have AMAZING news for you. There’s an entire boot on YouTube of the Seattle run with the cut songs and it’s incredible. The version of Big Bright Beautiful World on it is one of my favorites (and they used to have Shrek’s alligator chair!)
The date on it is 8/14/08 so Brian and Sutton were already cast, but Daniel Breaker hadn’t been put in as Donkey yet.
