So I think I've said before, but just in case, this summer I've been working at a local dry cleaner. The location I work at is in the middle of a suburb -- a very wealthy suburb, so we get a lot of entitled customers. So one of the reasons this story stands out to me is that the lady in question was just so nice.

Anywho, yesterday a lady came in to pick up her dry cleaning. I got her name and phone number, grabbed her stuff, and started scanning the invoices so she could pay. This was all normal.

It became abnormal when she looked through her clothes to make sure I got everything and said, "Wait a second. This isn't mine."

I stopped scanning and looked up. "What isn't yours, ma'am?"

She directed my attention to a red sweater-looking thing. "What is this?"

I found the corresponding ticket. "It's a onesie, ma'am. It looks like there's no charge for the cleaning, so I think it was held for a redo."

She was so confused. "I've never seen this before in my life."

So she called her husband, thinking maybe it was his. When he didn't respond, she pulled up her messaging app and used the speech-to-text function. "Hey, do you have a onesie kink I don't know about?" Pause. "No judgement."

I, on the other hand, was standing on the other side of the counter trying to hold in my laughter. That was something I had never expected to hear at my work. Ever. I thought it was the best thing.
