I bought Jeans, Three Tops, and a Windbreaker Today.
Today, I went shopping after my doctor's appointment. I missed the turns going to the thrift store, and I ended up at the mall. The mall on a Wednesday afternoon was as dry as my burned eyelids, which was eerily pleasant because I just nonchalantly wandered around without the bustling noise of shoppers!
I went to all the usual "teenage" stores: Hollister, Francesca's, American Eagle, H&M, Forever 21, etc. I bought jeans from Hollister because as much as I try to thrift jeans, it is difficult to find small enough jeans for me. They have a high-waisted and straight fit, which I adore!!111! I am so excited about them! I love jeans that fit!
Afterward, I went to Goodwill for the first time, and I bought 3 beautifully colored fall tops. Perhaps I will feature them. One was a short-sleeved brown and white floral button-up; one was a patterned sweater, and the last one was a faux- corduroy leaf-printed button-up.
Clothes shopping alone is not an experience I have ever found myself in, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. I genuinely do not enjoy clothes shopping because I am astonishingly picky with my clothes nowadays. Between me loving to wear all sorts of colors and patterns and loving to wear neutrals, blacks, whites, browns, I feel conflicted in both wanting to accumulate an abundance of clothing versus a smaller amount of clothing that I return to week after week.
Keeping aware of how I consume in today's age of social media, the media tries to convince us that we need all the trendy clothes. I find myself confused as to what I feel most confident in. Thankfully, thrifting has allowed me to see hundreds of different styles, options, and clothing combinations that gear me in the right direction of what makes me feel best.
ps. I bought the most stunning orange and gray windbreaker today for $3 from a store that would retail it for $100+, so I am ecstatic.
