#sammichlap #cinematic #dogs #shnouzer #beach #painting #sketching 160/365 Meet Izzy. On my last film, Desma the supervising art director had the coolest dog ever and her name was Izzie. Izzie would hang out with us all day, playing the role of the Art Department dog. Izzie is a miniature schnauzer, and the first time we met, before she was given her iconic haircut, which was short on top and long on the bottom, sort of resembling a skirt, she was a block of curly fur which made her resemble essentially a a compact rectangle. Her eyes were hidden under her long brows and her movements resemble that of a rabbit. She hops! We had several dogs in the department, most of which were males, but Izzy would stand her ground, even backing some of them away with her “no fear” attitude. You could tell she meant business by her strong broad stance. Her front shoulders were wide and her back strong! I was so taken with Izzy that I asked Desma if I could feature her in some of my paintings. So you’ll be seeing more of Izzy as I try to capture her wonderful personality throughout these paint sketches.
