After liberating a few planets from the galra empire, Voltron decided to take a much needed break. They landed on a peaceful planet to take the day off for repairs to the ships, and themselves.Approaching the atmosphere of the planet they decided on stopping at and taking the lead, Hunk gasped as he saw a characteristic he thought was only unique to earth.“Guys, you might want to come and see this.”As the rest of the paladins reached the edge along with the castle ship, they were shocked to see rain-droplets falling onto their windscreen.“Is that what I think it is?!” Lance asked, almost yelled into the intercom as Shiro laughed as his teammates enthusiasm. “Yes, Lance. I think we stumbled on a planet that rains.” Shiro’s laugh died down to a light chuckle. “Well, what are we waiting for?” You yelled from within the castle, into Allura’s microphone earrings [seriously, what are those xD], causing her to flinch. Everyone proceeded to land their ships on the planets surface, no evidence of civilization dwelling there. The rain kept at a steady pace, not torrential, but a consistent rate.Shiro watched from within the black lion as the other paladins, including you dragging the two alteans, left the safety of their ships to play in the rain.Allura and Coran stood in awe, watching everyone get so excited about the rain.“Allura,” Coran started, turning to her. “why are they acting like this? I guess it’s amusing but this ‘rain’ isn’t very fun.” Allura giggled as she looked at everyone’s smiling faces.“I’m not sure, but let’s find out!” She grabs Corans wrist and drags him to the others. Hunk was wrestling Lance in the mud, getting their armor all dirty, but they didn’t care in this moment. Keith was stood nearby, yelling at them because he knew he’d get blackmailed into washing them.Pidge was telling Allura and Coran about the water cycle on Earth, how the water magically falls from the sky, as they listened, intrigued. Coran began to tell Pidge about how the flaming rocks fell from their sky back on Altea, but it was difficult to understand with all of the confusing Altean terms he was using, but she nodded as if she had a clue what he was talking about.Meanwhile, you were stood, holding your hands out to catch the raindrops in your palms. This may be the last time you guys encounter something that has so much resemblance to home, you had to relish the moment. But someone was missing out, and you were going to fix it. Shiro had remained in the black lion, scanning the perimeter. He agreed that they needed this time to themselves, but he needed to make sure it wasn’t a trap. There have been planets they’ve been to that were labelled “non-threatening” only for it to be littered with Galra ships. His lion had told him that you were wanting to come inside, and he opened it’s mouth for you to enter. You proceeded up to the cabin where he had been residing, knocking on the door. Shiro turned around in his chair to see you, hair wet and dripping, along with the rest of your clothes.“Sorry I’m making a mess, but I wanted to come and talk to you.” You said walking over to him.“It’s alright, Y/N, and what’s up? Is something wrong?” He says, concern spread across his features, causing you to sigh. You arm outstretches to grab his human arm and pull him up out of his seat. “Y/N.. What are you-” You give him a peck on the lips as your hand caresses his face. “We agreed to take this break so we could relax and have fun. That means you too Shiro. You don’t have to work all the time. We may never get a moment like this again, do you want everyone to remember that you were the only one not having fun? Regretting this time that we had was for naught, as you were the only one alone? What if something happens to you, Shiro?”Shiro eyes widened slightly. He hadn’t considered how everyone’s feelings. Of course they would want him to have fun with them. He didn’t mean to make you upset.“I’m sorry.. I just wanted to make sure everyone was safe.” He confessed, looking at the ground. You smiled and took off his helmet, giving him another kiss, a little more passionate this time, before breaking away and grabbing his arm again.“No need to be sorry. Now let’s go before it stops.” You chuckle, dragging him outside. As they emerged from his lion into the pouring rain, Shiro smiled at the familiar feeling of the rain, being away from it a whole year longer than the others. He looked up at the dark clouds hovering above them, closing his eyes, letting out a sigh of relief. It felt good. His mind started to rid of the stresses he was plagued with just a moment ago, losing himself in the relaxing atmosphere. He didn’t know how long he stood there, relishing in the moment, but it must have been a while, since he was brought back to reality as Lance and Hunk both pulled him down to the floor with them. He was a little shocked by the sudden gesture, but started laughing as he pulled them both into a double headlock, wrestling with them. You chuckle as you begin to splash water on them from the various large puddles that had formed around you guys. Wetting them further. Shiro reached up to your standing position as dragged you down with them, earning a yelp in surprise. Pidge ran up behind Keith and pushed him down as well, you all becoming a big mosh pit of limbs and wet clothes. You and Shiro, trapped beneath the bodies of the other paladins, laughed at them together. Until you heard Shiro’s voice speak up. “Thank you.”
