Trope that needs to die: female animal characters having blue eyes and (sometimes) white fur/skin
I feel bad including Faline, Duchess and Nala here since I love those films and I do live their character designs but they still fit this trope so I had to include them.
This trope happening so much has really unfortunate implications since it’s basically associating light hair/skin and blue eyes with attractiveness….
EDIT: I know it’s too late since this post has already been reblogged a lot but I decided to remove Faline and Nala from the post, I decided I just wanted the rant to specifically be about female animal characters with white fur/skin and blue eyes
Commemorative illustration of Sitara/Fatima and Shira for the anime adaptation of "A witch's life in Mongol" by Tomato Soup done by Osamu Nishi, author of "Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun"
My brain keeps flipping back and forth between these two scenes. It definitely feels like some kind of parallel, if not by the author then by Science Saru for sure.
