I have to say this because Eren × Levi haters don’t realise how stupid their arguments are.
First of all: they are fictional anime characters. They aren’t real and they don’t reflect real people.
Argument: "Eren is 15 for the majority of the series."
Fuck that. He’s also 16, 17, 18, and 19 in the last season. Nineteen — that’s of age. A young adult. Young, yes, but an adult nonetheless.
He looks like a damn sports athlete, with his body and a height of ~183 cm. He doesn’t look like a teen or a kid. He looks easily 20+. So fuck your "pedo" arguments, because they don’t work.
Even at 15, Eren doesn’t look like a little kid. He isn’t treated like one either (Remember hes an anime Character, not a real person!). He’s a soldier in a harsh world where all of them had to grow up very fast — if you’re complaining about fanfiction in a canon setting.
The age gap 😱
Levi is 30+. Levi is pushing 40. "He’s too old for Eren."
Really? A ~14–15 year age gap? Really? That’s what you’re complaining about?
Yes, it’s a lot, okay — but it could be "worse". It’s your personal problem if you don’t like age gaps in fanfiction, but that doesn’t make the ship "pedo" or "wrong".
A 19-year-old Eren with a 34-year-old Levi? Yeah, it sounds like a lot, but it’s nothing to cry about — especially because it’s fiction and not real life.
There are even people with that kind of age gap dating in real life.
And no, the argument "but Levi was 30 when Eren was 15" doesn’t count. I was 15 once too — does that mean I can’t decide who I want to date at 19, at 21, at 28…? Adults can decide who they want to date. And fanfiction authors can write them!
Have you heard of AU fanfiction?
AU — Alternative Universe.
That means nothing from canon has to apply to the fanfiction. You can change ages. Make Eren 25 if you want. Age him up. There is no canon background, no "Levi is his captain, that’s predatory, that’s wrong" — none of that.
And no "oh it’s so wrong because Levi knew him since he was 15 and watched him grow up".
Really? Levi watched Eren grow up?
No. Levi saw Eren as a soldier in a war against human-eating monsters. He saw what Eren had to endure, the decisions he had to make, and what Eren turned into. That’s not the same as watching a kid grow up playing football or with toy cars.
"Levi is like his father." No! Levi isn’t Eren’s parent. Not his uncle. Not his relative in any way. And he didn’t "watch Eren grow up".
And back to the AU point:
A completely different setting: adult Eren, different background, diffrent plot. Can be modern setting, high school/collage AU, No Name AU, Singer!Eren, Model!Eren, Mechanic!Eren, CollageStudent!Eren, Magic!Eren, Biker!Eren, Hell it can be Pornstar!Eren (Alternativ Universe, remember!)
— and antis still scream "pedo, pedo, pedo" at their screens like little idiots who can’t count to three.
So what’s really your problem?
Reflect on that.
You don’t like the ship. That’s it. That’s the whole reason.
You aren’t morally superior.
You aren’t "defending a kid from a predator".
You aren’t cool because you hate the ship.
If you don’t like it — ignore it. Scroll past.
You don’t have to like it.
But what you shouldn’t do is harass people for enjoying a ship.
Question:
Have you ever actually tried reading a fanfiction about Eren × Levi?
Checked the tags? Read past the summary?
Done any of that before screaming hate comments and "pedo" accusations at shippers and authors?
I’m not saying every fanfic is okay. But you can’t pretend they’re all the same either.
So if you ask yourself next time "but isn’t that a bit pedo?" — the answer is: NO!
Unless you actually find an extreme underage fanfiction that clearly features real pedophilic content, it isn’t pedo. And that doesn’t only apply to Eren × Levi fanfiction — it applies to all fanfiction and all ships.
You can go call out real pedophiles. Do it. I beg you. I support you. Keep children safe — real children.
But "defending" a fictional character who is aged up in the story, written with a different background and different relationship dynamics, while calling an author "pedo", "weird", "creepy", or worse… that’s not the way.
You’re not being a good person.
You’re not protecting anyone.
You’re being a bully — a stupid bully who can’t separate fiction from real life and who can’t see that their "arguments" don’t actually hold up.
