Xornoth knowing he will never be Jimmy's first choice. At first, there's Scott. And he's so painfully good, so painfully earnest and not carrying a past of violence and destiny of cruelty. Xornoth can't possibly fault Jimmy for falling for him, especially given that they're soulmates. He tries, but Jimmy tumbles into Scott's arms regardless and Xornoth is left alone. And then there's Tango. Empires is over and Xornoth is, somehow, free of Exor's grasp. The cycle has moved on. But Jimmy has moved on too, and Xornoth finds himself falling short once again as Jimmy falls head over heels for his new soulmate. In every life, it seems, Xornoth falls for Jimmy. And Jimmy's heart and soul belong to someone else.
