This year’s theme is… reverse alphabet!

*Hanzo and Jesse are on their Honeymoon and are watching a movie in their hotel room while they cuddle on the bed*

Hanzo: Jesse... Can I confess something to you?

Jesse: Sure darlin', what do you need off your chest?

Hanzo: … I envy the relationship you have with your mother...

Jesse: Why? Was your ma a bad lady?

Hanzo: No it's not that she was cruel... it's just the vague memories I have of her are unhappy, my mother was betrothed to my father but even when he attempted a relationship she loathed him and as a result she despised Genji and I...

Jesse: Damn... That sounds awful...

Hanzo: Yes... Our father told us she died of disease and that she did love us but she committed suicide after Genji was born because she couldn't stand to be the mother of two children she didn't love...

Jesse: How'd ya find out the truth?

Hanzo: Genji and I ransacked Shimada castle for sentimental items and we found our mother's private diary, it talked about how much she hated father, that he was a fool for even trying to make her love him, and how she felt pain whenever she saw me and Genji, she hated when I called out to her or tried to hug her... *tears up*

Jesse: Oh darlin'... *hugs Hanzo close*

Hanzo: I wish I had your mother...

Jesse: Well guess what? She's your mama in-law. *points to Hanzo's wedding ring* and she loves you a lot. *kisses Hanzo's cheek*

YEA! I have a couple 

1. Hanzo’s dragon split into two after the big fight with Genji - I get that Blizzard probably just did it so that they feel like Hanzo and Genji have variations in their ult, but there’s a lot I feel that you can do with it. As in like, even in the lore it says Hanzo was heartbroken after having thought he had killed Genji. 

I see the dragons as a representation of the soul, and after the fight, Hanzo was so split between what he thought was right for the clan and what was so wrong about the whole thing, that he shattered on that kind of level. It’s just especially interesting since the Dragons short itself and all of Hanzo’s voicelines only dictate there being one Dragon of the South Wind. I don’t know if we’ll ever get lore to cover it since Chu is gone now, but he did remark one time that the Shimada dragons aren’t Magic, so maybe it’s from the soul, maybe it’s hardlight tech nanites or something...

I do like the idea that the tattoos are the Dragons’ seal

2. Shimada mama (Shimama) came from a clan that had spirit wolves - If you take a look at the old concept art for the Shimada family emblem, it had wolves worked into it at some points along side a dragon. 

I like to think it was bc of Shimama and it’s why Hanzo has the Okami/Lone Wolf skins

3. (Hear me out) Hanzo likes to do dumb food challenges  - Okay, so, Hanzo Shimada: control as hard as steel, but as we have seen... likes to indulge a lil’ from time to time. Or at least, I’d hope that with his two cakes for a snack voiceline from the winter event confirms that he has a sweet tooth bc that is literally one of my favorite Hanzo HCs. 

I have... a lot of headcanons about Mama Shimada, so here. :3c + Baby Wolf Hanzo!!!
